Mayor Dunleavy Memorial Park
Park Overview:
Mayor Dunleavy Memorial Park features mature woods, a swamp and rolling terrain -- making for a pleasant walk
Park Description:
Maintained in its natural state, the park has quite a few nice craggy rock structures on rolling terrain, mature woods with full understory, a swamp with a wooden bridge at the very south end off the main trail, another swamp with glacial erratic to the north. A blue lollypop loop passes the glacial erratic. A yellow trail passes by the south side of the northern swamp, and a red trail runs north-south through middle of park. Both ends of all three connect with orange-blazed Friendship Loop Trail at both ends.
Birders will find the area rewarding.
Trails Overview:
This used to be an 8-acre park, but the County acquired an adjacent 36-acre parcel, making a total of 44 acres. Use the Web Map link on this site to view a network of four blazed trails, allowing loop hikes.
